HOW WILL IT WORK?

Data Acquisition

RoadInteli’s road inspection systems will consist of highly advanced hardware components, which will include a GPS device, an inertial measurement unit (IMU) module, and three different types of – digital, infrared, and LiDAR (light detection and ranging) – which collect road data, and software that processes that data.

Data Processing

The system will be powered by sophisticated software, which will process and analyze all data collected from the cameras, through the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Algorithms to provide precise and reliable information regarding the state of the road.

Output

The infrared camera will produce images based on the thermal energy of the road, precisely measuring and locating points with differentiating thermal energy, which indicates the existence of below-surface pavement defects and provides clues about their scope.

The LiDAR camera will use laser beams to produce three-dimensional imaging of the road and its defects. The IMU module will measure the angular rate and acceleration of the imaging system in different directions to modify and increase the quality of the output images.

Visual Representation

By combining three different types of cameras, including digital, infrared, and LiDAR camera, with information from the IMU modules, Roadinteli’s solution will provide highly accurate visual representations of the surveyed roads without physically penetrating their surface.
